HINENI INTERNATIONAL
Privacy Policy
Hineni International, Inc.
Last updated: October 2026
Hineni International, Inc. ("Hineni," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have — whether you're a donor, a student, a mentor/instructor, or simply visiting our website.
1. Information We Collect
From donors:
• Name, email address, mailing address, and phone number
• Payment information (processed securely by our third-party payment processor — we do not store full card or bank details on our own servers)
• Donation amount, frequency, and any program designation you select
From students and their families:
• Name, age/date of birth, contact information, and guardian/parent contact information (for minors)
• Program enrollment and participation records
• Educational progress, attendance, and materials usage related to our programs (including the Quito Learning Hub)
From mentors and instructors:
• Name, contact information, background/qualification details relevant to program participation
• Travel and program logistics information (e.g., related to instructor trips to Quito)
From all website visitors:
• Basic technical data (browser type, pages visited, general location) collected automatically, e.g. via analytics tools or cookies
We only collect what we need to operate our programs, process donations, and communicate with our community.
2. How We Use Information
We use the information above to:
• Process and acknowledge donations, and provide tax receipts
• Enroll and support students and mentors in Hineni programs
• Communicate with donors, students, and mentors about programs, updates, and opportunities
• Improve our programs and website
• Comply with legal and financial reporting obligations (including those related to our 501(c)(3) status, EIN 41-4544461)
We do not sell donor, student, or mentor data to third parties.
3. Children's and Student Privacy
Some of our programs serve minors. Where we collect information from a student under 18, we collect it with the involvement and consent of a parent or guardian, and we limit collection to what is necessary for program participation, safety, and educational purposes. Parents/guardians may contact us at any time (see Section 7) to review, update, or request deletion of their child's information.
4. Sharing of Information
We may share information with:
• Service providers who help us operate — e.g., payment processors, email/communications platforms, and program-management tools — under obligations to protect your data
• Program partners in Ecuador and elsewhere, solely as needed to deliver the Quito Learning Hub and related programs
• Legal or regulatory authorities, if required by law
We do not share your information for third-party marketing purposes.
5. International Data
Because some of our programs operate in Ecuador, information about students, mentors, and program logistics may be processed or stored outside the country in which you reside. We take reasonable steps to protect information wherever it is handled.
6. Data Retention & Security
We retain donor, student, and mentor information only as long as needed for the purposes described above, or as required by law (including financial recordkeeping tied to our tax-exempt status). We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect information from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse.
7. Your Choices & Rights
You may:
• Ask us what information we hold about you (or your child)
• Request corrections or updates
• Request deletion of your information, subject to legal/recordkeeping requirements (e.g., donation records needed for tax purposes)
• Opt out of non-essential email communications at any time via the unsubscribe link or by contacting us directly
To make a request, contact us at info@soyhineni.org.
8. Cookies & Website Analytics
Our website may use cookies or similar tools to understand site usage and improve the visitor experience. You can adjust your browser settings to limit cookies; this may affect some site functionality.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of our site or programs after changes indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
